Our Attorney

Suzette L. Hutchens

Suzette L. Hutchens began her career as a teacher. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia Institute of Technology (now a part of West Virginia University) with a double major in Physical Education and English. She has a Master of Science degree in Physical Education from Virginia Commonwealth University.

After teaching health, physical education and English for several years at the middle school level, she decided it was time for a change. She began her study of law in 1980 and was admitted to the Virginia bar in 1983. She began a career of practicing law with Hutchens & Hutchens which continued for 35 years.

In 2018, Mrs. Hutchens was awarded the “Very High” rating in both legal abilities and ethical standards. This designation is earned through a peer review ranking process and is managed and monitored by Martindale-Hubbell.

In early 2019, she left Hutchens & Hutchens and started her own firm, SLH Law, PLLC. The firm handles cases involving personal injury, and wrongful death.
